I tried my second round of fasting last week but just ”couldn’t get into it”. So frustrating! Especially after successfully fasting for an 11 day run, this time around I only made it until dinnertime. I tried every day last week but to no avail. I will try again this coming week. I’ve decided to try and stick with juice at least the first 3 days then switch to water only. I was just thinking about you! My first fast lasted 11 days!!! Half were juice days then I switched to just water. I ended up losing around 15 lbs! Hard to believe. I had to give it up due to DH’s mandatory eating outings we had to take w/ some work associates, I didn’t want to break the fast but I had to.:( All last week I fasted off and on. I’m in the midst of my first fast also. I’m going into my 14th day tomorrow. The first thing I’d say to you is not to be discouraged that those around us are not in agreement w/ what we are doing. 84008, Thanks for posting this, I was thinking about the same thing. I’m now entering my 11th day of my fast, yesterday I switched to water only fasting since I was still hungry on day 10! I posted over on the water fasting forum and fonty & chrisb1 suggested water might work better for me as far as the hunger goes. What you suggest makes 100% sense. I quit the juice after lunch yesterday and stuck with the water. I’m switching to H2O. I switched. No more juice. Day 10 today and I’m sticking with water since I’ve been so, so, hungry! I posted on the water fast side and sure enough I found out that juice will still make you hungry while an only water fast will cause your body to go into ketosis and your hunger pangs will subside. I almost gave up last night and ate but I didn’t got out of the house instead, away from all the dinner smells that were killin’ me! I’m now on day 9 of a juice/water fast. I’m still experiencing hunger pangs, I think maybe I should switch to just a water fast? I have received great benefits thus far, lost about 9 or 10lbs. Wow! You are 1 day ahead of me. Today was my first full day of fasting and I’m actually going to make it!:) That is great you have the energy to think about exercising. I’m obviously no expert but from some of the posts I’ve read, light exercise is OK, even good for you. I think someone mentioned 15 minute intervals so you don’t overdo it. My hardest time hunger wise is anytime after 4:00pm, basically as it gets closer to dinnertime. I can check in with you tomorrow around that time and I won’t be home until 6:00ish. If I can make it just on water until Wednesday I’d be really happy! BTW, definitely no cups of acid here either! Good question! I’m wondering the same thing. I tried my first fast last Fri. and only made it till dinnertime. I used to have great stamina & willpower but lately I can’t even make it half a day. I’m gearing myself up right now. When were you thinking about starting? I might want to do it w/ you if you are interested in doing together for support. I have 5 children ranging in ages 16, 15, 14, 12, & 8 and early on I decided not to vaccinate, I also breastfed all of them as best I could and homeschooled all 5. What has really worked well for us at stressful busy times has been to make time to do things together. Go together for a bikeride, go get some coffee, to the park, anything outside of the usual will help you to reconnect with each other when like gets out of control. Do things you normally wouldn’t do, this past weekend we rode our bikes to the local supermarket and bought a bottle of wine and some chocolates! We’d never done that before.
