Hi ! So glad to hear you will be gettig it removed. I have pushed the raspberry leaf tea on this site after removing my own iud and bleeding so much I ended up in the ER. The tea stopped my bleeding altogether fter 2 -3 days of drinking it. I hope you can get your hands on some and start drinking it before you get it removed. It has a way of preventing too much bleeding if drank prior to delivery. I would think it is the same concept for your procedure. It’s tasty too. Good luck!!!   [End]

I feel your pain friend. I have suggested in my messages for those with thses bleeding issues to drink the Raspberry leaf tea. I was in the Emergency room in a bloody mess and they wanted to give me provera also. Don’t take it. It is chemical dnc and you don’t need it. Get to your nearest herbal / health food store and tell the herbologist what is going on. There are many natural things you can do for your immediate bleeding as well as your monthly bleeding to get regulated. If you are currently bleeding then I suspect that you would bleed for a bit afterwards. How much and for how long is something I don’t know the answer to. You may not bleed at all. Everyone’s body reacts differently, in my case I had a very bad bleeding episode afterwards. Then again, I took mine out myself. I definitely recomend the tea I spoke about... start drinking it now to avoid much bleeding afterwards. I swear I haven’t bleed a spot since after the first day of drinking it. Good luck. Oh boy... I guess you don’t know yet. Well, to explain, there is a hormone in your body now from the IUD and that is what is causing you to bleed. You could potentially bleed for up to 9 months. ( some certainly have on here) If you feel the side effects are something you are willing to put up with without having it removed you may have to go on another hormone (with it’s own side effects). No side effects at all. I feel great. Also taking vitamin C (1000mgs daily to flush stuff out) and B complex. I drink 3 cups of the tea daily and yes, you can get it at a health food store. They should have a herbologist there to consult if you go. I wish I would have known about this sooner. I would have prepared my body to get the ID out without all the bleeding. It has been used in pregnancies to prevent hemorhaging durring labor. What a great tea to have available!!   [End]

I would have to say that it will differ from person to person. Here’s why I say that... the depo shot has the same hormone as the mirena but in a larger dose because it is only effective for the 3 months. I have been told a lot of women had difficulties getting pregnant when they went off the depo shot. Well, I had the depo shot and I have gotten pregnant 2x since going off of it. So, as far as the mirena, there may be women who can and some who can’t I think for the most part it effects each of us differently in some areas and the same in others. Hi... I posted a message letting everyone know I took mine out myself just a few days ago. Well, let me catch you up to date. Just 2 days after I took it out ( myself) I was overwhelmed with the serious amount of bleeding that was taking place. I was (am) bleeding like I just had a baby. So, being that my OB/GYN is closed WEDNESDAYS I CALLED MY PCP to try to get in. I got an appointment fo rthe next day. I am such a fool. When I called my Dr weeks ago to ask for something to help stop bleeding fromt he IUD he prescribed NORETHINDRONE. Well, after I took the darn IUD out I figured it would help if I continued to take this med and slow the bleeding I expected to come. Guess what ladies... this drug is also a hormone. The side effects are the same as having the IUD without the birth control effect. Depression, fatigue, irritability, PMS symptoms et cetera. Nice. It has dawned on me after reading everyone’s posts and going through my issues what this thing does to our bodies. Tell me if I am wrong: After taking mine out myself, I have noticed A LOT of big clots just like after having a baby. The ”symptoms” I had were all like being pregnant. Yes they do get kickbacks. My Mom was telling me about a book but she can’t reacall the name. It had a Dr. on it in a white gown with a stethascope in his hand looking in a mirror. I have to tell you, I just took mine out last night but I only had it in 3 months. I gained 5 lbs. Not a big deal right? Well I had one shot of the Depo Provera and in 3 months I gained 50 lbs. That was years ago (7) and I have not been able to lose more than 20lbs of that weight.( I was never more than 120lbs) I don’t know what it does to us with the weight but it feels like it made my metabolism slow way down. Ok, let me start with WHY I took it out. I got this wicked thing put in June 11, 2007, 6 weeks post partum. A little uncomfy but ok as far as procedures go. Up until that point everyone was commenting on how well I was adjusting and how I was up and about so quickly after having my daughter. I wasn’t emotional, I was level. No depression. Nothing.
