This is quite true. I find I do, on the most part recieve more respect. Although some people are hesitant at first because they are not used to seeing a woman with hijab/veil, after they talk to me I recieve more respect than I got before I started to wear it. I find that at university more people are willing to work with me because I am non- threatening. Then men do not get distracted by me and the women dont feel in competition with me. I would suggest if you want to adopt from lebanon or other muslim counties that you contact the embassy where you live and ask for information. By my understanding there are hundres of children waiting to be adopted in muslim countries but since many of these counties only allow muslims to adopt these children they dont use international adoption agencies. I think it is rediculous to suggest Jesus was gay. Homosexuality is CLEARLY forbidden in the bible and Torah. Just look at the story of Lot. Well they have allowed the aboriginals self government but under certain restriction according to the Canadian law. Dawah is very hard. For me accepting Islam very very logical. Christianity was very confusing and the practices of the church was hypocritical. But yet people still choose to believe that mummbo jummbo. What are your ways of giving dawah? It is not enought just to give da’wah by our actions and being a proper Muslim. mmmmmmm... Its hard to unplug the TV. I didnt watch TV much before I got married. After I got married my husband and I would listen to speaches on the internet but The tv got the best of us to I cancelled the cable! There is so much haram on tv as well. I listen to Bilal philips quite a bit as well. I had bought about 20 casettes of his speaches. I also have a couple CDs of Suraj Wahaj. We started to read the Sealed Nectare in our weekly halaqa. Yes!... Sorry it took me so long to write back too! In Islam Jesus IS separate from God. In fact, not all Christians believe that Jesus is God. My mother who is a Christian was very surprised when I asked her if she thought Jesus was God. Other Christians I talked to had the same reaction. Islamically Jesus was a messenger from God, a prophet. No, you are quite right. The injeel is not the same as represented in the bible and even the deciples didnt write tem as they are in the bible. My mother is a Christian so I get it all the time from her..heheheh... she goes to her church and gets things to debate with me about and she usually ends up embarassed because she doesnt know her religion at all. I disagree. The media is almost aways wrong about islam. Even when I went to the library to check books about islam they were all written my non-muslims. The all created a different picture about what islam really is. The truth about islam can only be told by a practicing muslim or by islamic books written by practicing muslims.
