i also had tongue swelling twice with mirena. i have been tested for allergies to the silicone and polythene that it is mad of and turns out i am NOT allergic, so strange these symptoms are happening!
also check your silicone levels in your blood, mine are dropping very very slowly post mirena, and i am only post 2 months, and i been blood tested for antibodies and antigens build up in blood work, treated with a steroid for 7 days, even if your not allergic to silicone you can have negative reactions going on inside your boday,

i have just last week had blood test for thyroid stuff, and ANA and also antinuclear antibodies, i will let you know my results as well, i am curious what the thyroid test will show. i heard many stories about people having issues with thyroid with mirena as well.i will update you with my test results in a week or less [End]

I did not get my period until about 7 weeks post mirena. and the night before getting it i had the same deep painful side effects and muscle and chest pains, i wanted to go to the emergancy room i didnt know what was happening, the next day i had gotten a very very heavy period, it did take 7 to 8 weeks for me to finally get my periode, and i didnt have it in years, so i definatly felt the way you did, even a hot flash. i am 28 so i am almost your age , i thought i was gonna go through early menopause, but i wouldnt worry, and if you had yours in a year longer than i did you might need a ...

Your totally right about that. i must say i just made a appt to the neurologist for this week. what kind of mri did they order for you? i am very nervous. and i am on your side. i too blame mirena for these symptoms. doctors dont listen at all. its so funny that we all have mirena in common and yet mirena is not the cause. i cant wait to see if the neurologist is gonna say mirena is not the cause of my pains too. then i will keep going to neurologists until i find the right one. keep me posted i will keep you posted.

You should get your VIT A,B,D and E checked as well as your liver panel (liver enzymes) if you have not already.

i know exactly how your feeling. it is horrific. and noone should feel like this.
