I thought that I would have lots of bleeding after I had mine removed but only blead for a few days and spotting at that. I thought that I would have a period as well and have not and that is while being on the pill. Guess I am gonna have to talk to the doctor about this mess. if you do not want any children than I would talk to the doctor about your options in that direction. It seems to me that just plain having a hysterectomy would be an option for you. I finally got that darn thing out of my body!!! The doctor had to do it surgically but it was worth it just to get it out. My hips feel better allready. Been a little sore these last few days but it doesn’t feel nearly as bad as when the IUD was in. I almost just feel a sense of relief. The doctor said I would bleed for a few weeks but I pretty much stopped the next day after surgery. We will see what happens I am on the pill so hopefully I will get a period at the end of the month. exactly. This new doctor that I have tells me that you can not gain weight just because you dont have a period from the Mirena. The same thing happened with the Depo shot with me as well and now I find out the same people make both products!!   [End]

Oh my goodness this is so me! I would forget my head if it was not attached as well. I went in to have it removed today and they could not find the string. So I have to go have a D&C Histrocopy to see what happened to it and have it removed. Par for the corse that when I finally decide to go ahead and get in out they can’t find it. I have had the Mirena for just over 2 years and have had nothing but pain from it and also being very moody. I have not had a menstral cycle in as long as I have had the Mirena and don’t want to have sex. Which has been a problem for my husband and I as well. I would not suggest getting the Mirena. I have it currently and wish that I never would have gotten it put in. I have mood swings something fierce. And I get mad so easy as where I did not before getting it. I just wanted to say good luck. It does make you feel stupid when the doctors tell you nothing is wrong. Just remember you are not alone and dont let them make you feel that way. Tell her to have the Mirena removed. My marriage has suffered since I got the Mirena and I know it has. I feel much the same way she does. I have no interest in a sexual relationship with my husband. the patch was what i used before the mirena and it worked ok. i did have alot of clots when i would bleed but atleast i did not feel like this. i chose the mirena so i would not have to worry for 5 years and i have done nothing but since getting it. my doc made it sound like the best thing since sliced bread ya know. i tell everyone i know not to get the mirena because of what we have all experienced so yes getting the word out is important. because we have been test dummies for this stupid thing. without even choosing to be.   [End]

I have had the Mirena since January of 2005. I have that same type of acne and very oily skin, along with other side effects. I have gained 60 lbs since having it inserted and abdominal pain, lower back pain, horrible moodiness and depression, painfully tender brests, no energy, nausiated all the time, headaches. I have not had a cycle since having the Mirena inserted. It is frustrating because my doctor made it sound like it was the best thing since sliced bread! Far from it.....
