Well it’s the fifteenth of December now and still NO period! I have taken a total of five pregnancy test now and they are more than clearly negative. I called my doctor in the beginning of the week and she said I could very well be pregnant and it’s just to early to detect but she also said that if by the 10th of Jan (60 days from removal!) and the pregnancy test are still negative then she will want to prescribe something to get them back on track! Actually nor was I ever taught how to feel for the strings but I found them when I needed to=) As i mentioned it certainly isn’t recommended but what worked for me was just squatting down with the index and middle finger and I found the strings immediately, after that it certainly took a couple tries but I got it out by just pulling GENTLY on both strings! I mean even though its shaped like the letter T you would think it would hurt but because it is SO flexible it bends with ease.   [End]

Hi, I just wanted to say although it isn’t safe I actually removed mine myself with absolutely no pain or problems. I’m not sure how much it would cost to have removed but you would also have to pay doctors fees as well which I’m sure would be a little unrealistic considering it takes two seconds to actually remove! I had mine for just over a year and I just pulled it out Nov 10th the only thing so far is I haven’t had a period but I didn’t have one the year while on Mirena so who knows! good luck and keep us posted!   [End]

Just a quick update. I tried another pregnancy test and it’s still showing a NEG result. It’s almost the 10th and no sign of my period yet and still feeling very pregnant. I’m getting very confused because I don’t know what the problem is. Is it possible I’m just way to early to detect the pregnancy or am I driving myself crazy over nothing??? I to didn’t have periods the whole year I was on Mirena! My question to you ladies is when to expect a period after removal? it’s been a month and still nothing. I know I read on a Mirena fact spread sheet that if you don’t have periods while on Mirena then it is very important to use a back up method 7 days before the removal which I only later read after it was to late . I just wanted to add that I read in the Mirena facts spread sheet it claims that women that have NO periods with Mirena should use protection up to 7 days before the removal/ or falling out in my case because the chance of them getting pregnant is ALOT greater! ( WHICH IS MY BIG CONCERN BECAUSE WE DID!)I also wanted to add that as I had mentioned before I had some light bleeding the days following after it fell out, so to me that meant I should of had a period with no problem! I’m having the opposite problem! Mirena fell out after a year of use with No periods during that year! On November 11th it fell out and still no period! I feel pregnant but test aren’t showing a positive result yet. My husband and I did have sex maybe 2 or 3 times before it came out so is it possible to be pregnant that fast without even having that first returned period??? Hello, I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me! I had the Mirena IUD for just over a year total. Well as I had posted on an earlier forum I had horrible pains and later that next day my IUD came out. I may of had a period or two after first getting Mirena inserted but then NO PERIODS at ALL for the remainder of the year! Okay just so you know not only camels used this for method! That was just where it started! I also forgot to say that this doctor was wrong in two MAJOR ways!!! ONE you weren’t on your period ! Which should have been a red light to do the preg test! That’s wrong! TWO no pregnancy test was done! These two things are hand in hand for a reason!!! HINTS you didn’t have your period because you were probably already pregnant. Yes, you would most definitely have a lawsuit on your hands! ALL doctors are required to MAKE you take a pregnancy test before even thinking about inserting the IUD! Hi, just wanted to update everyone on the pain and discomfort I had been experiencing. It must have been from the IUD working it’s way out. I went to feel for the strings and the whole thing just kinda came out! THANK GOD! After now having two IUD’s and bad reactions to both I would NEVER get this again!
