I applied Lugol’s daily for ~1 month, my scars scabbed over a few times and I have noticed a couple new hairs here and there, and even the black ”iodine center” dots, but when the scab peels off the scars underneath look more or less the same. They are more sensitive and maybe thinner, but mostly the same. Also, the skin surrounding the scars is still very stained from iodine and it’s been weeks since I last applied iodine. I’m a bit lost too. I thought after the first couple of scab shedding that I would not see the scar, but it’s still there. Maybe it’s a bit thinner than before, or at least some of the layers had been shaved off after the first 2 scab shedding. sometimes when I scratch the area after the scab has shedded, it does hurt, so I guess it’s newer skin coming out, because scars, when I scratch it before, barely had any sensation. I’d consider to look into something called phosphatase. Its an enzyme relating to phosphorous metabolism which is destroyed by heat, I rely on raw nuts and raw potatoes, and make sure I get some active phosphatase in me at every meal. Well, some people have rare conditions in which the normal effect of vitamins minerals etc have the opposite effect. In my personal case the Iodine supplement and pillow mints made from cream of tartar which is potassium both constipate me. My beaten adrenals are a part of this problem. This is just an fyi response. I am one of those rare people that is constipated by the iodine therapy also. The light bulb turned on for me when I remembered that potassium supplementation also constipates me. In order to make iodine for supplementation iodine crystals are added to liquid potassium iodide. Hi, I have had the same issues for over two years now. I have had my thyroid meds switched around multiple times. I am now on T3 and T4 separately vs Armour which has them both. It might be worth just trying it to find out yourself. It is clear so you can put some onto your scar as frequently as you are able. Potassium Iodide is contained in lugols iodine BTW, there is twice as much PI as Iodine 2:1 ratio. I do not know what types of forms that it is sold as. If you can find a small amount of premixed then that might be worth trying before getting the parts necessary to make up some from PI crystals. I do not know whether iodine works on scars even though I have read about some saying that it does work. If the staining is a problem then you might try potassium iodide which is clear coloured. Dear Grace, I have been on iodine for nearly 2 years and from my experience I can say that you need to keep adjusting the dose of iodine and companion nutrients and listen to your body. There is no one perfect dose for everyone, as we are all different and have different levels of toxins to get rid of and ailments to cure. All skin issues stem from the weak liver. So first things is to do liver flush and then go on a diet that includes a lot of green vegetables. Take liver function enhancing herbs. Many posts here on CZ should give you a list of those herbs. Anecdotal here. Detoxadine normalized my thyroid levels in about 2 months on blood tests. Went from about a 6.5 TSH, to about a 2. I was asked about levothyroxine after testing higher, but I declined, and then at the retest, they were normal. I’ve been experimenting with a few forms of Iodine for the past 2 years in varying dosages. Detoxadine works best for me so far @ 6-9 drops a day right on the tongue followed by water first thing upon awakening, and then another 3 drops if necessary in the afternoon.
