Send Private Message To MadamB-Fly Send Email To MadamB-Fly I am a 53 year-old professional diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1995, Lupus in 2001, and, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in 2004. By combining Traditional American Medicine and various Alternative Therapies I have been able to work full-time, obtain my Masters in Public Administration, participate actively in my child’s life, take some fairly adventurous eco-vacations, volunteer at my child’s school, as well as be active in several nonprofit organizations. Whew… makes me tired just thinking about it. Anyway – having a positive attitude, sympathetic doctors, a willingness to take control of my destiny, using the web (including Curezone) to research my symptoms and slog through lots of on-line medical and nutritional texts, I am making the most out of my life. Some days it’s a matter of willing myself to put one foot in front of the other, other days it is a matter of “paying myself first”, and taking a day out for myself to rest. I have also learned to do things that make me feel good about myself – without spending a huge amount of cash. I buy really nice clothes and shoes for work on E-bay, I get regular pedicures, and, I spend time with my own bodacious women friends (away from work and family) at least once a month… I have great days where I feel like I have immense energy (but it is finite) and I try to spend it wisely. So, that means delegating and not doing everything myself. And, if something doesn’t get done – I just let it go. My handle “MadamB-Fly” is in honor of the Butterfly, a symbol of metamorphosis and transformation, and, a play on the 90’s slang word ”fly” -- cool, good, fun. |
