hi, yes same here, mainly face and scalp too which intermittently still becomes inflamed with lumpy spots and resultant hair thinning, we may have similar be it
Tapeworm or other.
I can't remember now off-hand all the names of different tape species so check out ICU's postings for this, she covers the varied tapes each with their specific meds. [do check out ICU protocols - they are very informative]
I used the meds in August 2010, Albendazole, Prazi and Ivermectin, about five cycles of 2 to 4 week treatment courses each of ABZ and Prazi but these meds did not clear them, just stirred the paras to scatter/migrate wildly around the scalp and face and body too [legs, feet etc] - this activity is definitely felt and mighty distressing.
Ivermectin caused no such effect but then this med does not treat tapes.
The longest ABZ treatment course I took in 2010 was for a whole month at a high dose of 1200mg daily [3 x 400mg tabs] - during those hyperactive intensive months that year.
I also took DEC [Hetrazan], Fenbendazole and other equine paste combos but I really think they had no effect but that is because these meds are not for tapes.
In 2011 activity had lessened somewhat [maybe the ABZ and PRAZI reduced the load to a degree, I really have no idea at all but you will know when you start your first treatment ABZ and/or PRAZI course how it goes for you. If you want to PM me, you are welcome.
