I'm doing a smoothie with fresh papaya, papaya seed, fresh pineapple, yogurt, coconut oil and cayenne. I want to add turmeric, but can't find anything definitive on how much to add. The smoothie will be about 3 cups and I'll be drinking one a day. How much turmeric?
PLUS, I just read something that said you have to take black pepper with turmeric to "activate" it. Has anyone else ever heard this? If so, I'll do the black pepper too.- Re: New smoothie recipe. How much tu... glaxony

This is a reply to # 2,125,143I have never heard of black pepper activating turmeric. But black pepper is good for a lot of things, and it wouldn't hurt to add a little. I would put about three teaspoons of turmeric, adding them one at at time and tasting before adding the next. I would add just enough to begin tasting it a little, but not so much that I dread to drink it. Try sprinkling a little black pepper on top to see what it tastes like.
