MoreI have fasted for twenty-two days before and recently it is two days and three days last month, but I now find it hard to fast and cannot help eating everyday due to cravings. How to have the motivation to fast?- Re: How to have motivation to fast a... LIndaWu

This is a reply to # 2,226,055Today will be day one. I know I am not good at this and fail every single day for many months, but here I humbly am, starting at day one, and I know I might fail again. But once I start this thing, there is no going back. The cravings have been the hardest. They are the single most challenging thing in my life. I am not addicted to sugar, to p 0 r n, to sex, to video games, but I am addicted to eating every single day. I do not know how the next forty-eight hours are going to turn out but I start my fast officially now. I will be back in this thread every single day to tell you how I have been faring and whether I have eaten. I usually start eating around noon so if I come back to say that I did not eat in the morning, it should be no big deal. If I say I did not eat at noon. I might eat in the afternoon so I guess I should check back several times a day. My unbroken record is twenty-two days in 2011 spring. Hoping to beat that record. I guess my motivation to fast is just curezone. I just brushed my teeth for the night and the last few things I ate were bananas, tofu strips, chocolate, and peanut butter bars. When I have cravings I will just come here.

This is a reply to # 2,226,071It is so weird. Every time I ate today was because I was reading this book called Sappho. I better not risk eating again and do some other activity where I didn't eat immediately after starting. I will go copy down a chapter from my old biology textbook. Ooooh, the circulatory system! Then I will watch Scishow videos on YouTube. I better meditate at least one more time tonight. But no Sappho book for me.

This is a reply to # 2,226,072Jus finished meditating. All my meditations sitting cross-legged are thirty minutes long and involves a tape. The tape is for tapping in to the master's energy and build a connection to him. I can only do the single lotus, where only one leg is up. When I lose twenty pounds, I will be able to do the double lotus. Can't wait.:-D Wish I could meditate repeatedly but my legs will hurt so I'll have to wait two hours to do the next meditation. On to Science videos. :-)

This is a reply to # 2,226,077Watched more than an hour of scishow and took a shower. I wonder whether this is easy to fast because it is night time or because I have just eaten about five hours ago. Now going to listen to guided meditation for chakras on YouTube. Not sure when I will sleep because it is arbitrary every night. Sometimes I fall asleep in the middle of the first video. Sometimes I sleep at six a.m.

Use EFT and set up a day in the near future to start the fast.
Every day prior to that day you use the EFT as often as you can to reinforce your intention to fast starting on that day. You can include the length of the fast, and what kind of a fast it will be. Doing this you have already decided on what you are going to do. You've removed any doubt from the start a couple of days in advance.
I find it easier to start in the morning after being without food for the previous night.
Every time you feel hunger coming on, you do EFT and reinforce your intention to fast.

It is far more difficult to fast during winter, especially at the beginning of winter, cause human body is programmed through millions of years to put weight on during autumn and beginning of winter, to have reserves to survive long and called winter.
It is far more easy, and also far more natural to fast during the spring time and during summer, because our bodies are naturally programmed to eat less and to lose weight during those months.
That may be the reason why you have difficulties fasting right now, if it is winter beginning where you are.
Your body is simply telling you that you are doing something unnatural.
