Re: First animal-human embryo trials to go ahead
LMAO, ZOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a creeeeepy photo!
On a serious note, I did a term paper about the possibilities of human genetic engineering some 15 years ago. One of the most frightening aspects of the research indicated that specific attributes of one species could concievably be spliced with human genetics for A Purpose: i.e., splicing canine sight with human sight which would allow human beings to see from ultra-violet to infra-red. Other hypothetical species involved fish, cats, bats, etc., and the only purpose for such genetic engineering (as all of the research data indicated) would be for human warfare - development of human beings that were so altered as to be of military use.
Genetic engineering - NOT generations and generations of careful hybridization - should be illegal, immoral, and utterly impractical, particularly in the area of cloning.
Thanks, Zoe!
