At Lilypond's suggestion, I have been reading a great book titled, WILD FERMENTATION by Sandor Ellix Katz about crafting fermented foods with beneficial bacteria.

I've never experienced any sign of Iodine killing off good bacteria but I may be unaware.

Does anybody have any impressions of what Iodine does to the good bacteria?
