It is the mentality that is reflective of humanity at this stage of its evolution...
It is a choice everyone makes for themselves.
Everyone is capable of being corruptible... of becoming jaded, deluded and seduced by such power. Not all of us has the opportunity to have our integrity tested by the lure of it... not all of us are attracted to obtaining that, either. But, it is an easier decision to make, to remain dependent on society... it is safe, it has security... it has convenience... it offers respectability... and it has the numbers.
Seems to me, for most people that find it appealing to go after this, it is a deep-seated conditioned habit... of where to focus one's attention... everyone has a choice to either join the procession of the walking dead or cut the ties that keep them bound to their past... to humanity's past. Humanity has been dominated by the pathological. It has not been dominated by those that are healthy for the simple reason that the healthy are too busy enjoying themselves. they are not concerned with domination. It is only those that cannot dance... those that feel they cannot sing a song... and so they are the one's that become cunning, in planning how to dominate others.
Society is the graveyard of the walking dead.
Society respects those that make sacrifices... those that prevent themselves from really enjoying life, from living on the edge... respects those that have crippled themselves... respects those that have enslaved themselves... respects those that keep themselves dependent on family, on community, on nation. It is not really a life affirmative humanity that we find ourselves living with.
There is a trade-off. And that trade-off is to sacrifice living a real authentic life, for one that is mundane and lacking a possibility for fulfillment. Some are thick headed. Some need to be immersed in the depths of the mud and wallow in the misery of this life before they are able to come to understand.
A few others are a bit more intelligent... they are able to find creative ways of expressing themselves, of enjoying life more fully... of dancing and singing their way through it... it a matter of choice... a matter of choosing to enjoy this life or not... to take a ride on that train... and come join the living.
