Red meat and nightmares

Does anyone have a theory or knowledge on why red meat causes nightmares? I have noticed that I have horrible nightmares after eating red meat, which I only have on rare occassion.

Is it something in the meat? Or is it something to do with the animal is slaughtered; i.e stress hormones etc?

I would love to know.
