Re: Tierra
NewUK,
The deal with probiotics is that some might help and some might hurt, esp if one has issues with parasite/candida and/or LGS (I wonder if probiotics could leak into the bloodstream if there're holes in the intestine?). IMO, it's a little too much risk for you right now. I've read that there're biofeedback and muscle testing one can do to sort out the good ones from the bad ones. I need to do more rsh on that. If you're really in the mood of experimenting, try to make and eat that same yogurt you once had a reaction with. If no reaction, it's probably okay to use that in your yogurt enema. If there's a reaction, wait 4 days, and try the other 2-mth old batch and see if that makes a difference.
Meanwhile, if the enema gets you thru the day. I'll say, go ahead. You've been doing it for 1 year (yes, long enough to become dependant, but not long enough to never ever break it off esp. if you used to have strong peristalsis), 1 mth or 2 is not going to make that much of a difference.
As for the SWF, if the saline/magnesium based oral laxative from the doctor's office didn't work for you, I'll say put a hold on that too. The biggest risk with these type of laxative is dehydration. I'll say work on your hydration 1st.
How much water do you drink? I realized I was really dehydrated. The key is to work your way up slowly and EVENLY. Try to drink a little at a time (at least once every 2hrs) and work your way up to at least 1/2 of your weight (although I think it might be a lot more than that). I don't know how much you weight. I'm very thin too, ~100lb. The only time I drink more than 2 cups of liquid in one shot is right after I get up. Otherwise, 1 cup or 2 cups every 1-2hrs or so. I also add 1g of Vitamin C to my water or juice. I did 7g yesterday. I can feel the bowel flush coming. I'm trying to reach for 10g today. Are you taking any supps?
As for fasting, it helps to give my digestive system a break. I've read that small instestines can regenerate itself in 4/5 days. No bloatedness, no gas (very, very litte) during the fast, I feel a lot better. If you're worry about being too weak. Try a juice fast for 1 day, and slowly work yourself up. You can also take some good oils (coconut, olive oil, etc) inbetween, it really helps to curtail the appetite and provide nourishment w/o overloading the GI. I'm very thin too, I'm on the 3rd day of my juice fast now. I'm going to break in slowly today with some oatmeal for lunch followed by a yam for dinner. Surprisingly enough, I still have BM (1/day) during my fast w/o any aids. I think the citrus juice really help lossen things up and cleared up the back-up. If you're worry about glucose level, do less fruit, or just use lemon. I always add a clove of garlic and some ginger to help with circulation and hoping to kill some parasite/yeast along the way as well.
As for castor-oil packs, can you elaborate on that. I was under the impression that it's for liver support.
When was the last time you had a colonix? What did the therapist say about your poo? Were there any compacted fecal matter?
I'm not sure which bowel cleansers you've tried. Some ppl simply don't do well with stimulant and psyllium-based type of cleansers.
Oxypowder works differently. Even though, it's more or less like the saline/Mg laxative you had, the oxygenated Mg and the Geranium 123 are the ones that make all the difference. The website says that it works well with LGS. The
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) tips I posted earlier also mentioned using
Oxypowder before hand as a pre-caution. You should really check it out. As a pre-caution, I'm also getting MegaHydrate. I think it's another low risk support supp.
-Hope this helps!
