you are so right. it all begins with self. We cannot live others' lives for them. The best we can do for others is to provide a safe place for them to grow and/or to be a good example/role model for others. Growth requires choice -- once you accept the equality of the other, you must allow them to make/live by their own choices.

however, to your above quoted statement, I wld like to add my own belief that -- once we "repair" or become firmly set upon the path to "repairing" our own "cog" of the universe -- as always, we connect with others of like heart/mind. Because of these connections, our immediate world may seem to be "better" and more aligned with our own goals and desires. The stronger and more numerous these connections become -- the bigger the effect on the larger world in which you/we live.
