Re: Is the Abortion Debate

You can claim all you want but just like deep south evangelicals are no longer able to keep slaves, other religious zealots aren't able to force their views of how reality works on others. Key issues where a person's body is at stake must be kept as individual rights. The real "despots" are those wanting to enforce their biases on others, effectively removing free will from individuals..

So you are claiming that a fetus has consciousness and therefore is a full fledged human being and your entire platform of "baby murder" stands on this. But this has not been conclusively proven. Sure there is scientician propaganda that christians with an agenda like to cling to as their fuel, but nothing conclusive.

I still find it interesting that you value human life above all other forms of life. This is an atypical christian meme attitude and why are planet is facing challenges.Somehow the earth has ben trusted in the hands of men. Convenient beleif system placed into circulation by TPTB who love dividing up the earth and plundering resources. Conveneint indeed.

If there was equality and respect for all living things (especially the ones who are alive after birth) then the world would be a very different place. Instead of spending all your energy ensuring that more humans enter a world of suffering and injustice, perhaps a better expenditure of time and energy would be making life better for the "already" living. Then extend that beyond humans and onto other living beings. Contemplate this during a sit down to steak tar tar. ;-)

Of course christianity has never been about *that* though has it. It seems much more rooted in a mythical soul mining game with all kinds of strange and weird ethical anomalies. Slavery comes to mind. Blood sacrifice perhaps.

If most christians had their way, there would still be slaves and to most christian men the word "women" is a substitute for the word "slave."

And isn't THAT what this debate is really about?
