Re: triple therapy for blasto
I agree with shrimpy...don't replace the drugs with others. Each drug serves an important purpose.
Don't quote me on this...I'm not a doctor.
But I 'think' each drug is responsible for killing different ages or forms of blasto. Which is why it's so effective and one drug isn't. I think in the triple therapy - that furazolidone is the cyst killer. I think this one is very important (if so) because they are the last to die.
You don't want to accidentally remove the cyst killing drug and replace it with one that's not. (This is my point).
There is someone in my family who took Nitazoxinide for a week for blasto. This didn't work...it came back full force one week later.
So the doctor represcibed it for 2 weeks. Symptoms came back while still on Nitaz. Anyhow...this person went on to take the triple therapy of Nitaz/Secnidazole/Furazolidone and is now symptom free at over one month posttreatment. I believe this person as well has beaten blasto.
Somehow...these drugs work really well ('Together').
