Gosh this is scary indeed.
A co-worker of mine her daughter died from being biten from a tick about 15 years ago.
They were camping out and had an RV.
WEll her daughter came down with flu like symptoms and then she was listless etc.
She was taken to a small town local hospital and she took a turn for the worst.
My friend tried to get her transferred to a larger faculity and the Dr. declined her request....worst case ever..she said that her young daughters' whole body just swelled up to the point of not being recognizable at all and within one week she died.

I never met her daughter but met this person whom I worked with and she never really got over it..sued the Dr. and won and he lost his license as well.
