Re: 2 Weeks using coconut cream
Healing2021,
I agree with EVERYTHING you've said. I realized on Monday that my skin wasn't actually being moisturized properly with just the steroid(after you commented on my post : P) as it only protected the skin from cold weather and wind.
On Monday, I started applying larger amounts of Betaderm and applying more Aquaphor in between and my build up has slowed down A LOT. Like, my lips are always moist now, I apply Aquaphor during my breaks between classes and after eating, etc. I have yet to see a scab form such as the ones in my previous photo. The skin is just very thin and white. Actually, the tiny build up, often exfoliates when I'm applying Betaderm, and Betaderm is much more "liquidy" than Vaseline.
My lips look and feel so much better now. The skin on my bottom lip that touches my top lip doesn't even build up that much anymore since I've started applying more Aquaphor.
I also am breathing through my nose now so my skin doesn't ever get a chance to get dry. I'm kicking EC's ass right now.
Scabs are no good for healing. They just cause trauma to the skin underneath. The only thing scabs act as a barrier against are the moisturizers that are trying to help the skin underneath!
