Stonewalled by Blue Cross Blue Shield Caremark over Compound Medications
I have been dealing with Caremark who is the pharmacy service for Blue Cross Blue Shield. They have been stonewalling me for a year. My Compound Medications are classified tear 3 by them and my co payment was as much as $700 for a 3 month supply. I asked them about arbitration and both parties told me that it was done. Never had they tried to help me bring the price of the compound medications down.
So I wrote my Congressman John Runyan and one of his staff Joe called me and gave me a number for Caremark that deals with appeals. In a phone call I was told that if my Doctor wrote a letter explaining the need for this drug it would be put in a pier 2 and my co pay would drop from $700 dollars to $70.
It is really a shame when the corporations who deal with those that have fatal disease have a vested interest in keeping the medication co payments inflated and telling half truths and lies when questioned about relief. They have proven to me that they represent their own interest with no concern for the sick.
I urge all who have a similar problem to write their congressmen and Senator concerning their problem and the denial of service due to being stonewalled by our insurance companies.
