I don't know the brand you bought but if it's pure silver in distilled water it's perfectly fine for your dog's eyes.
I have an old cat who gets chronic conjunctivitis in her eye (the other eye was removed years ago).
I simply put a few drops directly in her eye and she is cured within a day or 2 at the most.
