Re: I feel so, so sick. Please help.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling so awful. It has been (often and wisely) said, that ideally, people who *need* to water fast, ought to be resting only. (Some of us want to wfast, and some of us even push ourselves...)Some people seem to suffer from great weakness, and others do better. it's so variable. Being vegan can mean being rather depleted, sometimes--just the same as eating the usual SAD.
Depends on whether the diet has been plant-based and nutrient-dense or less so. ( and then there's the vitamin B12 thing. Perhaps that is low..?)

My gut feeling has always been it doesn't make much sense to try to eat if you are not really feeling like it. In that case, if you are insistent on breaking the fast, you might want to take some crystal salt (like hymalayan) and bathe in it, to get some minerals into you. Epsom Salt footbaths too.
(be very careful, if you are feeling weak) It may be that your body had entered a deep state of autolysis, and was working on some cruddy stuff, and this would leave little energy left for much else. That's partly why people are encouraged NOT to break a Water Fast on a downswing. It is remarkable that you can feel so low one day, or for a number of days, and then feel a burst of energy, and feel GOOD. That would be/is the optimal time to think of breaking the water fast. So much depends on your mineral stores--and for most of us, these are rather low, and need re-building. Then again, we have to be patient, and not expect to be both 'letting go' and 'building up' at the same time. That goes to the patience part of water fasting.

I broke my first 29 day Water Fast on a bit of a low--that is, I'd been in a "spitting crisis" for several days. I wasn't 'hungry' when I broke, but I was weak and tired of my own taste, and just wanted to break it, and get bACK TO FEELING STRONGER. I paid for breaking that way, in that it took me two weeks to gain back energy and the strength to conceive of walking up a long flight of stairs in the local food emporium, without feeling like a ghost. But the thing is, the energy did come back. Prior to doing this fast, I had been doing some building up of my mineral stores, with kelp and blackstrap molasses, etc. Was it all worth it?

Yes. Not sure what to tell you about your particular situation. Just sending you some good energy. Consider too, after you feel a bit better, learning EFT which can help a lot, through the hard places in the wfast. I hope someone else will weigh in--and do keep us posted.
If fruit doesn't appeal, think of vegetable broth, or perhaps lemon and ginger tea. Don't fight the body.
