Thanks for the reply - I agree absolutely that fungus is involved - just took video of live springtail like parasite with microscope at 40X - the parasite nymph survived 90 minutes and when reviewed photos and video later, saw that it was slowly enwrapped by some fungus tentacles (look like worms - amber color with splotches of red. pics up shortly
