Re: I used to have the same problem
If it were that simple, they would use
Sugar to grow yeast in the lab. They don't- they use malt. The growth factors are separate from the sugars:
See: Croft, C. C. and L. A. Black Biochemical and morphologic methods for the isolation and identification of yeast-like fungi. J. Lab. clin. Med. , 23, 1248-58, 1938.
Malt contains chains of two, three, or more
Sugar molecules, that are different from table
Sugar and honey. These long chains of sugar molecules interfere with the interactions between immune cells. This also results in a decreased immune response to yeast.
Malt also contains more than twenty toxic chemicals. One of them, tyramine, causes headaches and is in large amounts in the malt.
Other poisons include hordenine, and N-methyl tyramine.
Malt also contains twenty forms of pyrazines. When they are eaten, they trigger the release of endorphins and contribute to food addiction. Eliminating malt can help get appetite under control.
My experience is that I did NOT eliminate sugar, I did eliminate malt and vinegar, took nystatin, and I am better. I am past trying to eliminate the yeast, that only took 6 months. Now am just rebuilding the strength and stamina it stole from me! Who knows, by summer I just may hike again! I miss that...
