Avoid laxatives...even if they are herbal! They work by irritating the intestinal lining causing it to rapidly expel its contents...which can contribute to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. More importantly...in as little as a week of regular use....they can weaken the bowel muscle resulting in impaired peristalsis and dependence. Use enemas or colonics to get things moving and make sure that you are adequately hydrated.
