long time facial paralysis

Hi Dr. Schulze ,

in July of 1998 I developed bells palsy and I have an incomplete recovery. All the doctors and specialists have told me that there is no way to get additional nerve regeneration at this point in fact I was told that microscopic pathways that the nerve travels in may no longer exist ( whatever that is supposed to mean) Inany case in your opinion is it still possible to get additional nerve regeneration(and increased neurological function) after almost 5 years ?
