No breath problems that anyone has complained about. My problems seem to be in the process of cleaning the pipes with sandpaper and the metal filings that actually float in the air at times that I breath in,something I never realized until I observed these almost gold colored flakes floating in a stream of light, and the copper that covers my hands during this process.Fortunately I do not have fillings! This I believe may cause a differant set of problems called electrolosis which may be affecting your husbands breath, when two metals meet this process always takes place the more nobel of the metals will try to destroy the least nobel of the two and that I believe is what is happening to your husband! Beware of job sight pollution many a good man has fell victim to this and never diagnosed. I do electical also but never noticed as strong a taste in my mouth unless handling a lot uninsulated wires Another warning now that electritions are running more and more P.v.c. pipe is the deadliness of those glues and cleaners that actusa;ly weld the pipes together melting the pipe the fumes from these I know almost instictively is what has been the biggest affect on my health My Depression and gallsstone were heavily influenced by these chemicals I could almost log these events and dictate the state of illness that will inevitably follow.
