I would start giving him Pau d' arco tea and herb btw

here is a tea i would reccomend
for thrush:

one tablespoon pau ' arco bark
one cup water.

place herbs in a GLASS pot and cover w/ water
let soak overnight.
then boil for 10 minutes tops.

strain off herbs.

use a mouthful at a time
swish liquid in mouth for
a couple minutes before swallowing.

if buy powder, use only a teaspoon with a cup of boiling water ..

(i think in your case, the extract would be best)
(you can put a few drops in his drink now and then)
try to make a game of it, get him to *swish his drink in mouth
befor swallowing to get it on tongue area
