Rosacea ?

I have long been suffering from itchi, dry face with papules. I had to use hydrocortison 1% every now and again for the last 10 years. It used to come and go but lately it bacame almost constant to appear every day following which I stopped using Hydrocortison. Consequently, it flared up so much that I went to see my doctor, who diagnosed this as Rosasea, although I thought this an allery for all these years. However, the doctor prescribed me Metrogel to use but I don't get much relief. The itching goes away as long as the layer of gel remains on the face but it returns soon once the gel gets wiped away. moreover, the skin remains more and more red and each papule gets hardend. the itching has become increasingly unbearable.

Having said all these I would like to no what best I could do to help my problem. I would be very grateful if hear from you.
