Re: Can a friend in Canada ship Lugol's to the U.S.?
Actually, I saw that same notice and tried this already. My local pharmacy gladly ordered me a pint of
Lugol's for $20. When it arrived, it was labeled "can only be sold by prescription" so they wouldn't sell it to me. I told them I read that
Lugol's is now OTC, and they gave me the name and number of the distributor.
I called the distributor and was told that their labels are way behind the regulations/legislation, and that in most states (not all) it is an OTC product right now, and that if it were a compounding pharmacy, they'd repackage it and sell it to me.
When I asked where I could get more info on the regulations, they weren't able to tell me, so I couldn't help educate the pharmacist, who called somewhere and was told it was only available by prescription.
I live in WA state, but near ID, so I called a few pharmacies over there and was told the same thing. My in-laws are heading to MT soon, I thought I'd call around there.
