>>Don't the audios (at least one of them) BEGIN more or less on (at the very least cover) the facts of the Japanese diet and the fewer incidences of x,y,z? Is the stuff we can buy here infused w arsenic? It's a friggin' health food store. Do I need to look closer at the label?<<

I'll either assist you with getting your imaginary nuts off (lol), OR I'll answer questions that were meant to be rhetorical, OR I'll answer questions to which you are seeking answers and that I have information to offer.

Either way, you won't think you're being ignored :) :) :)

--Yes, the audios mention that the daily seaweed ingested by the Japanese equates to 13-ish grams of iodine.
--the specific/typical type of seaweed that the Japanese ingest is rarely available here; it is not exported.
--seaweed/kelp contains naturally occurring arsenic AND arsenic and toxins from being grown in oceans floating in chemicals & poisons. Some 'growers' attempt to reduce the amounts of toxins by filtering the water they pump throughout the seaweed beds. Of course, it's virtually impossible to eliminate all the chemical poison from the entire ocean, and there's no way to 'contain' the water. But it's better than nothing, that's for sure.
--Some people seem to be able to handle/detox from the natural occuring or low levels of arsenic; it my thinking that those whom are weak should be very cautious in this regard. There are COUNTLESS reports of arsenic toxicity and seaweed. Do a Google search - you'll be blown away.
--YES, you need to look MUCH closer at the label and find the cleanest/purest seaweed you can find. Those products that have no concern about toxins, generally state nothing on their label. Those products that DO have concern about toxins, generally have higher prices, so they need to put something on the label to explain why their prices are higher.
--Probably around 90%+ off ALL health food store herbs are made with herbs grown in third-world countries...with DDT and other harsh poisons. When coming into the US, the plants are then either doused with more pesticides and/or irradiated...or both (by law). DDT is a neurotoxin and there have been many reported cases of those with neurological illnesses being WORSEND by utilizing normal herbs from a health food store. There are VERY FEW companies that utilized certified organic or wild-crafted herbs. Those that do...ALWAYS say so on the label.
