I copied this from an earlier post I read several days ago:
To Make Sodium Acorbate:
Mix 1 tsp. ascorbic acid and 1/2 tsp. baking soda in 2 oz. water, when it stops fizzing dilute in 8 oz. water.
The above is the "recipe" to alkalize the ascorbic acid, which makes it more absorbable and better for the body. If you're taking tablets I suppose you can just take the baking soda in 8 oz. of water right after.
