Re: Couple of questions for DETOUR...

Aloha NC!

Happy day 9, yes I'm doin' fine.

Kaui is da kine! It's the oldest island so very lush. They filmed Jurrasic Park
on Kaui. I really like it there, too. Did you do north shore?

Big Island mo' bettah! :P

Ok...here's my slant on molasses. I think that it is fine to do a tablespoon every once in awhile(solo) OR us BSM instead of maple syrup. In fact BSM has a lot more nutrients.

As far as mixing it in regularly with your Maple S McCocktail , I honestly think that it confuses the body through the complexity of the combo. 'Guru' (schmooroo) or not, I don't know, nor have I found anyone, than really has broken down the Master-Cleanse components bit by bit , molecule by molecule of what the ingredients actually do as far as scientifically or physiologically other than experiences realized or shared. I can only attest as to what has worked for me and what I gather has worked or not worked for others. I am pretty much of a purest because I don't have the concrete facts, nor have I seen any here, other than opinions and observations-That is not drop dead proof. Some may personally find certain tweaks that work well for them, yet I can't consciously condone things that may work for a handfull of people and say they work for all. I always pretty much answer and ask questions for the whole forum's benefit and safety.

I personally tried the molasses gig and my body didn't like it...I tried it on its
own by the tablespoon like so many recommend. I also switched from MS to bsm one cleanse mid cleanse and it was stomach wrenching.

MY feeling is that if one is in dire need of extra energy then I would wager that
9 times out of 10 the person is over doing it physically and should taper down on their physical demands/activity. I think the Master-Cleanse is not just a cleanse, it is a rejuevinating and healing process. Building muscle is very demanding on the body and I personally don't advise that it be a part of the MC. The body must repair the damage when muscle tissue is developed. I do think, though, that it is wise to exercise and keep toned via very light workouts , walking and vigorous stretching or yoga. Heavy activity/exercise must defeat the rejuevinating atributes of the cleanse. Although I go crazy after a week without heavy exercise. So , I simply
ease up & stretch out the time frame of activity so my body can burn the calories readily available and not over do it...if I usually run an hour , I'll walk or hike 2 hours instead.

If people go by the book , they are ingesting apx 300-1200 calories per day. I routinely remind myself and others that mere sleeping burns apx 50 calories per hour. If we are exercising strenuouly on the cleanse then the body is going to
grab or attempt to grab either the available energy or stored energy. Running an hour can burn about 400 calories. Sometimes that tablespoon of molasses will definitly come in handy.

I believe that the cleanse is most effective when kept simple and routine. The body will swing into the zone and stay there when not knocked off track. Use your own judgement and skills to read your body as to what's right for you :)-as you already do-nc

I've had a really long day writing, computing and crunching for work and I'm rambling probabababably! forgive my incoherant jargon, typos, etc. I'm sure others will have more to say on this matter.

About the salt...

If you aren't getting enough flavor/satisfaction from your soup after 21 days of not eating then add more herbs. I stay away from the salt for full break mainly
as not to get back in the zone of salt in food. Being on the bland side also makes
me curtail the urge to chow down relentlessly. I try to drag out the Master-Cleanse empowerment
as long as possible...I still start may days 'off cleanse' with a quart of water just to remind myself of the willpower I have on the MC. I'll tell you though, if you use my soup recipe you will not need the salt. My family can't wait for MY soup...hell, I can't!

I hope all this makes sense...my favorite vegetable is myself right now...time for
a McCocktail and a pee...

Rock on NC and all!
