Re: Painkillers during fast for headaches
You can do whatever you want.
The purists will say, "oh no!" Philosophically they are correct, but if you need to take an aspirin or two to get you through a rough spot, it's better than giving up, right?
You want to avoid as much substances as possible.
I often chew gum and take breath mints. For this I am a heretic, but we are ambassadors for fasting and when we have to be at work we don't want to be disgusting slobs.
I also do mouthwash in the morning. It helps relieve me of the foul taste in my mouth.
You need to be PRAGMATIC. Bend the rules as you see fit, but only as little as possible.
I've tried some fasting while drinking tea. You can still have an OK fast. It just won't be as effective. IT'S STILL WAY BETTER THAN NOTHING!
Then maybe after you've done a few "compromised" fasts, you will be in better health to do a pure fast.
