Re: severe lower back pain while water fasting

Wow, what a difference a day makes.

I can't really say which therapy worked the best because I did them all. First I soaked in the Epsom Salt bath for about 45 minutes. I followed that with the castor oil pack. I used a heating pad for an hour then kept it on for about half an
hour. I thought I might try to sleep with it on but I couldn't. i didn't get immediate relief from that either, but noticed that when in a standing position I felt no pain at all. Shortly afterwards I decided to try to sleep. I laid down on my right side and the pain returned. I added another blanket because with so little sleep I was feeling chilled. While laying down I mentally did the EFT without actually tapping and noticed that while doing the cleansing breaths that exhaling really felt like I was releasing some of the pain so I concentrated on the breathing.

It took about 45 minutes but I laid still and breathed through to a fairly comfortable place. Once my side got uncomfortable I rolled onto my back, then my other side, even woke up to urinate, all completely pain free. I slept for 4 hours! I would have slept longer but my sinus headache was so uncomfortable that I felt a vertical position would be more beneficial. Those 4 hours were priceless.

Today I had one brief episode of the pain when I laid back down after showering but it passed quickly. I hope to get some more sleep today.

Your support has been invaluable to me. I would have stood on my head while reciting poetry had you suggested it. It's very hard for my husband to see me in pain that he sees as self inflicted when he would gladly give me a Lortab in a heartbeat. He doesn't fully understand my journey and it scares him somewhat, but he is nonetheless very supportive. Still, a few mores days and he would have been begging me to end the fast and seek medical attention.

So, today is day 7 and I am confident I can continue. Thank you again.
