100 trillion bacteria

If a person were to take 2 packets of VSL#3 then they would be getting close to 1 trillion bacteria. some would be killed by HCl acid and digestive enzymes. who knows how many end up surviving. if 10 % survive then they are still outnumbered by 1000 to 1. if someoen takes a probiotic with only 1 billion bacteria then (after some die off) they will be outnumbered by 1,000,000 to 1.

that is kind of discouraging.

i did some investigating and learned that three lac has approximately 6 billion bacteria per packet. the problem is that it is not refrigerated. i believe that most of the streptococcus F. is "DOA" (dead on arrival).

vsl#3 comes packed in ice bags (fed ex) . i think there is a big difference in quality control over 3lac.
