Re: What I get from this. Re: What motivated me; the rest of the story... closure (EDIT)

Very good observation and post... this is what I was hoping people would get from all of my posts.

We all need to learn here. I would be willing to bet given the hits on the Iodine forum that there are many people who would like to post and receive support with a low, perhaps a very low, dosing protocol that are a little afraid to do so because of all the data and information and “gung ho” attitude about the cancer studies with 50 to 100mg overshadowing the otherwise healthy individual and the great benefits they may be able to get from supplementation. Not to mention the disagreement with most anyone who posts suggesting caution and research/education on both sides of the issue.

As these are doctors doing the studies used to support high dosing (mega dosing to me would be over 100mg), what we may not have available to us in these studies is the drop out rate for one… this is a piece of the data that is missing from most drug related studies. People drop out of tests for any number of reasons… I would not only want to see the drop out rate, but also the reasons for the drop outs. Another item we may be missing is their baselines for success or failure on the protocol. Still another is the dosing adjustments made, up or down over the course of a patients supplementation and for what reasons...

You wrote…

"Noticing in what you have written here, Iodine was taken by you at the 10-15 mg level throughout your cleansings and life improvement strategies prior to Lugoling. I now add that to the thought "I have" that you may have reached Iodine sufficiency prior to ever beginning on the path of Iodine Saturation."

Whether I was sufficient or not before ever starting idiosupplementation is in question based upon my almost immediate response, however it is a distinct possibility, the response being a detox of some sort.

That said, I do believe that most everyone can achieve sufficiency with low dosing for a long period of time; say 2 – 4 drops of Lugol’s. I know that some seem to think this is too low to detox, but for someone who has gotten less than 200mcg all of their lives, I am not so sure. In fact, I am more prone to believe that slow and go is the best possible way for someone who is otherwise healthy as it would fit a little more seamlessly into one’s current diet. I am not suggesting low dosing for anyone someone with a known health problem that has a proven response to 50 to 100mg daily of idiosupplementation.

Although very healthy and very strong at 51, I still have unnecessary fat and am willing to bet it is loaded with toxins/pollution given my history.

These posts of mine can serve as an education for people. I sure do hope that if people have a negative response to iodine supplementation that they post it without fear of disagreement from others. How else can we all move forward and learn?

I am willing to bet there are some people out there who have had negative responses similar to mine that have not posted... that is a great loss to all of us; how else are we to move forward?

Whether these negative responses are detox, or once sufficient an over doing it WE NEED TO KNOW.
